Our Story

Built for fans. Powered by content. Driven by community.

This club didn’t start in a boardroom. It started on YouTube.

Ten years ago Spencer Owen built Hashtag United as an idea, a football club created in public, with millions watching the journey unfold online.

It began with matches against friends, creator teams…anyone up for a game. The matches went online. The views started climbing. Hundreds of thousands. Now millions.

What started as football content quickly became something bigger, a global community following every match and every Hashtag moment.

So we turned it into something real. Hashtag United became a real club.

We entered non-league and started climbing the pyramid, with the same community that watched it begin, now following every step.

Today the club continues to grow.

Our Men’s First Team competes in the non-league pyramid, continuing the journey that started on YouTube.

Our Women’s First Team is growing fast, competing in the Women’s National League, just two tiers below WSL and climbing.

Our AllStars Team keeps the original concept alive, where football, creators and entertainment collide.

And the next generation is already part of the story. More than 50 youth teams now represent Hashtag, with hundreds of young players wearing the badge every week.

And now the next chapter begins. A new home. A new era.

Right on the Central Line, with one of the closest tube-to-ground walks in football. You can literally see the pitch from the station bridge. Close enough for a decent throw-in.
